Over 250 colleges and universities are affiliated with AIFS, which helps make the process of applying for an AIFS program easy, and may provide access to special affiliate scholarships. Students from affiliate institutions may automatically receive $400 grants for semester programs and $200 grants for summer programs. Others may apply for scholarships administered by their study abroad office.
The Overseas Ambassador grant is a program created for currently students or recent graduates who are planning to study, intern, volunteer or teach abroad. The Overseas Ambassadors will serve as an overseas correspondent, sharing their experiences to motivate other members of the community to go abroad. By writing insightful articles, sharing inspiring videos and pictures about your new surroundings, cross-cultural observations and personal growth, your words will inspire other diverse students to go abroad and challenge them to rethink how study abroad experiences can be for everyone. To apply for one of the AIFS Study Abroad scholarships below, complete the appropriate application form and send it to your Admissions Officer along with all required supplemental materials as listed on the form. Completed scholarship applications can be emailed, faxed, or mailed to your Admissions Officer, but must be received (or postmarked if mailed) by the stated deadline.

Mr. Linakis began his 30-year career at AIFS working in the study abroad division. He later became the head of the AIFS flights department as well as the Senior Vice President of AIFS.
The Russel and Deborah Taylor Foundation is committed to providing study abroad scholarships for students who have demonstrated academic excellence and who have significant financial need. Scholarships covering up to half the program fee are available each semester. To apply students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5. Students should apply by the published deadlines prior to their semester of choice, providing an essay stating their academic objectives together with supporting documentation of financial need. (Pell Grant eligible students will be given priority).
A total of five (5) Maynooth University Scholarships worth $1,000 each will be awarded for the Summer 2018 session. If awarded, you will also be asked to submit a brief personal blog in text or video format as well as photos from your time abroad within one month of your programs end date. These will be shared with future prospective students via our print and/or social media outlets in hopes that they will inspire others to study in Maynooth.
